[Quinn smiles brightly for the camera, very much in her element. She's so excited she could explode (except not literally because ewwww)]

[Bulla's quite excited as well. They'd been planning this for a while and now they're ready to unveil Fashion Club to the general public of Luceti. Of course, this had involved dressing their best. They could hardly promote Fashion Club without looking fashionable themselves, after all.]

[After hearing this message, Effie makes her way over to the salon. A makeover sounds WONDERFUL. She will, of course, be wearing her typical Capitol fashions: bright purple and pink colors, high heels, and a very prominent curling silver wig.]

Hello? Are you still doing makeovers here?

We always are! Come on in! [And you are SO in need of one, Quinn mentally adds]

[In she comes. Effie inspects the salon, which apparently meets all her expectations because she smiles at the sight of it. And the smell -- mmmm, hair chemicals! It's one of the best smells, really, because it smells like self-betterment and confidence. Carefully she sets her lace-decorated pillbox hat on a nearby table and pats her wig.]

I am SO glad I didn't miss it.

[You're not the only one, Miss.]

So, what shall we do first?

I rather thought I'd leave that to YOU, dear. Though I should tell you that my Power Color is bright purple!

[Bright purple?]

How bright, exactly? There's different degrees of "bright".

VERY bright! Fuchsia bright! It needs to POP, my dear!

[At "pop", Effie moves her hands in a fireworksy-explosiony sort of gesture. Pop.]

We can work with bright purple, I think. At least for colour accents.

[Bulla returns from a supply run and she's glad that she had time to see Effie's hair before approaching. That's number one on Bulla's mental list of things to make over. Colour preferences are easily accommodated.]

Let's start with a shampoo and blow dry, shall we? Maybe a nice, soothing face mask, too.

Yes! That's perfect, bright purple all over is just too much but it makes a wonderful accent. [Quinn will just go get the shampoo and the facial masks for Bulla~]

Ohhhh, a face mask! You know, this is truly the most civilized experience I've had since being home in the Capitol!

[Effie chooses a shampoo chair and sits.]

It's lovely, really.

You did things like this back home all the time, then?

If we're all stuck here, we might as well find things to do. Although what Luceti really needs is a shopping mall.

[The only thing she can say that's good about having a limited wardrobe is that she's learning to be more choosy and to pick out items that will match with multiple things so that she can mix and match more. Of course, just about anything is limited when one's walk-in closet is larger than some people's bedrooms.

She begins to run the water, testing it with her hand to make sure it's warm enough to be comfortable before taking the shampoo and facial masks.]

Would you prefer an exfoliating or moisturizing mask?

Both.

[A 33-year-old woman can't be too careful.]

And yes -- skin treatments were simply a social must in the Capitol. Part of one's routine, as much as one could work it in.

All right. I'll start with the exfoliating mask and then put the moisturizing one on afterward.

[She'll handle that and the hairwashing, and then she'll let Quinn take over for blowdrying and hair styling. Bulla experiments more with fashion than she does with her hair, so Quinn is probably the better choice for styling hair. She will, however, offer suggestions.]

Quinn, maybe you can think of a few hairstyle suggestions that might work?

[Something that's not quite so...big.]

Oh, of course! A French twist, for something sophisticated, or loose waves for kind of a fresh, springy look...or a bun on top of the head, with a few loose curls framing the face! [Despite the nightmare of being stood up for the Princess Fairy event, her hair looked great that night.]

[Effie, meanwhile, relaxes and allows herself to be pampered. THIS is finally, to her mind, civilization. A comfortable chair; good-smelling shampoo; people caring about how her hair looks. Yes. All of these put her at ease.]

Those all sound lovely for hair styles, but I do want to look stunning.

[Because in Panem, weird + stunning = power + beauty.]

Oh, then I highly recommend a twist, with a little braid hanging from each side and a few curls framing the face! It sounds a bit complicated, but it works.

[Bulla thinks about this for a moment as she's washing Effie's hair.]

That would look really nice, and it's something you could go with a slightly more casual look - like, business casual, or you could go all out and glam it up.

I put my hair in your hands, ladies.

[Because finally there's girls here who ACT like ladies, and that's refreshing!]

Yes! It's a multi-purpose hairstyle! [She's had many of those, and they always work perfectly.]

[Bulla begins washing Effie's hair. Though she's a good deal stronger than she looks, she's actually quite gentle about how she washes, fingers only scrubbing into the scalp with as much pressure as is needed to have a really good wash.

Once that's done, she wraps Effie's hair up in a towel to keep it out of the way of the two masks. She's not entirely sure how she should apply both - whether she should mix the two together like blending paint, or if she should apply one over the other, or one after the other. This is the first time she's ever been asked for both.

Eventually, she settles on blending the mixtures into what she hopes will be both a moisturizing and exfoliating experience.]

You know, you have a real talent at that.

[This is spoken from beneath the neatly-secured towel -- rather stiffly through the masks. It's hard to move your mouth with those products on your face.]

The shampooing, I mean. I suppose the two of you intend to remain in business here for as long as possible.
