[Has it already been another year? The holidays are coming and once again she has to start making a list of things for people. And considering she's made new friends and possible boyfriends, well...that's a lot of shopping! Once again she's relieved things don't cost any money here, not just because of the amount she has to buy, but also worrying if people can tell how much she spent on them.

It's getting cold, too. So if you see Quinn today she's at the cafe with a notebook and a set of colored pens, dressed in black jeans and a cute pink sweater with matching scarf and hat!]

Let's see...Daria's easy, books are always good. The challenge is finding ones she doesn't have. Maybe some eyeshadow, too, or some lip gloss. Rock Lee...hmm. A new shirt? Something athletic? Should I bake him something?

[If she were home right now, she'd be going into her...second year of college? Yeah, that sounds right. Second year at Pepper Hill, unless she wised up and tried to get into somewhere better even though she'd taken a vow of solidarity with the Fashion Club.

I could do better, though. That's why she'd wanted a tutor, why she'd begged David for another chance when he tried to write her off. Why she'd gotten a B on the last test she'd taken before she came here.

Yet she hasn't done anything about her education here, so far. She's done a lot for her social education, started a new and better fashion club, made new friends, learned new cultures. But (and this is VERY scary and weird for her to admit) she misses books and tests and teachers. Not so much that she'd give her shoes for a class with Mr. DiMartino, but she feels a little guilty for not doing anything with her school education.

There's a school here, right? She knows nothing about it, but maybe it doubles as a college?]

[If something seems different about Quinn today, there is. She has a little patch on the side of her shorts, a little pink heart...and she sewed it on all by herself! It actually looks good, mainly because she had a lot of help, and she only stuck herself with the needle once! Hard work actually feels good, who would've figured.

She's walking around town, kinda showing off, with a major skip in her step. If she catches sight of you, prepare to be chatted up. Or, if you're a hot guy, flirted with. And feel free to chat up or flirt with her if you wish!]

[The good news is, Quinn finally decided to give the craftswoman side of fashion a shot. Bad news? She's terrible at it. One half-hour of sewing practice somehow ended in only two of her fingers not pricked and bleeding, and the less said about the designs she tried on that spare t-shirt, the better.

So it's off to the store for extra bandaids and bactine. And extra thimbles. And maybe a pair of protective rubber gloves. Feel free to comment on the bandaids already wrapped around her fingers.]

Well, at least that t-shirt was meant to be practice. Maybe I'll let Daria wear this one for yard work or something.

[Right now, if she were at home, Quinn would be planning out her Thanksgiving strategy: eating just enough to be polite, but not enough to make a pig of herself and gain weight like most people do. Or in Dad's case, end up with heartburn.

She'd also be awaiting a visit from her grandmothers and aunts, a novelty which would wear off once the fighting started. Rita and Mom screaming at each other until Mom was unbearable to be around, Grandma Ruth criticizing Mom at every turn, Dad ranting on and on about Grandpa, Daria and Amy sitting off to the side grinning and eating popcorn. And if Brian and Erin came, twice the tears and twice the screaming.

But they're her family, and she misses them. It's been two years since she's had a proper holiday with them, geeky and embarrassing as overbearing "family days" are. Plus, the weekend after Thanksgiving always has some of the best sales! (Then again, it's a little hard to get excited about fifteen percent off when everything here is free.)

Right now she's decorating her and Daria's place with cute little brass leaves and colorful candle holders, and she's made some potpourri with dried cranberries. Cranberries always smell so good, and they're such a fashionable shade of red, too!]

[The new Fashion Club has been a success, and it feels more like a fashion club than the old one. Back home she and the girls were all talk, but here they're actually doing something to help those in need. This is the sort of thing Quinn always wished she could do without looking like a tryhard geek in front of the girls, or suggest without Sandi shouting her down.

She's at the store right now, looking at various makeup shades and hair colors. Considering a little change...not a complete dye job, but some highlights. Maybe a subtle copper or gold shade to bring out its natural beauty.

Plus, she needs some new mascara. Her old one's officially three months old and almost empty anyway.]

Now, should I buy my usual black or go for a more natural-looking brown? Or perhaps midnight blue...

[At first, it's difficult to see what's going on. The video feed that flips on shows a manicured hand with short, tidy nails and the camera angle is moving. At last, the camera stops moving around and Quinn can be seen. Bulla's voice is in the background.]

Okay, I think I've got it.

[The sound of footsteps can be heard as Bulla moves to join her friend.]

[Quinn smiles brightly for the camera, very much in her element. She's so excited she could explode (except not literally because ewwww)]

[Quinn is walking around town in a weepy, mopey slump. She's been like this pretty much all day, mumbling under her breath and sighing heavily every so often. Or make that every five minutes. Something is obviously bothering her, and it's more than just losing her favorite eyeshadow.]

Oh, if he would only notice me, look my way even once. Why was I cursed to lose my heart to someone whose heart is already claimed by another? It's...it's just not fair! [pitiful moan] She doesn't deserve him, she's just like all the other girls! She's not special like I am! Ooooh, if only I could make him see that...but how?!

Unless... [she's grinning wickedly] I took her out of the picture. Then, he shall be mine...

[So Quinn's been actually doing some real thinking lately. What Daria said about magic, could it be true? Could she actually learn to cast pretty spells like the princesses and fairies in the movies?

Then again, magic would mean studying and hard work. And Quinn is still slightly at odds with that for...reasons. Yes. Reasons.

She did believe in angels, and still kind of does. But magic's a whole other story.

Shopping, on the other hand, is something she knows. So she's doing that right now.]

Hmm...I wonder how good this shade of purple would look on me. [she holds a pair of chic ankle socks in one hand. She's also considering buying a few things for Daria...just a few gifts to change her mind about a makeover. Hey, just because she understands Daria's resistance doesn't mean she won't stop trying.]

[This is weird. It's like the population had a sudden jump overnight...like a baby boom except without babies. Still, Quinn's never been intimidated by crowds, so she's out introducing herself to random people! And talking their ears off, because it's what she does.]

Wow, this is great. It feels like a big party or something! [Part of her even hopes her fellow Fashion Club members or the three Js will show up...even Sandi. Quinn doesn't want to admit this, but she kind of misses the passive-aggressive, backbiting witch.

But like hell she'll actually tell Sandi that. Unless she says it first.]

I wonder how many people we've got here now? Probably over two thousand, right?

[Okay, so most Christmas music is so geeky, and some people's idea of decorations are so tacky. Santa Claus? She's known he was just a fairytale since she was nine...and yet a little part of her still believes. Awww. (But no one is ever allowed to know!)

But Christmas season is so cheery and happy that Quinn can't help singing one of those geeky songs as she's waltzing around her and Daria's place, making plans for the most stylish Christmas decorations she can.]

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away...

[It's a bit of an effort not to sing "summer" instead of Christmas. Because reasons.]

[A short time later, Quinn is still getting used to her new surroundings. Having wings and the overall feel of the place is still so weird! But she has plenty of new outfits, and that makes up for it. Well, sort of. She still has nowhere to stay.

Ami's been nice enough to let Quinn stay with her and her housemates, which has been...well, interesting, at least. It's not what she's used to and she's sure she's rubbed a few people the wrong way, but at least she hasn't been kicked out yet. Which is more than she can say for certain Fashion Club presidents and their houses.

She wonders if she should be picking up the pace on her search for her own place, but she's getting used to Ami and the others. Well, maybe they won't mind another person...besides, she'd rather be living with people than alone! Only people like Daria want to be alone!]

Hey, does anyone mind me doing my nails? Because if I do I'll need to open a window, it smells pretty strong.

[She remembers last night as clear as a bell. She talked to Stacy for an hour, told Matthew "maybe" when he called to ask her out for Friday night, did her homework to get Mom off her back, traded put-downs with Daria, then did her hour-long pre-bed beauty routine before she went to sleep. The next morning, she should have woken up at her usual six-thirty AM for her morning beauty routine.

Only it doesn't feel like six-thirty. It's hard to tell out here, which is most definitely not her bedroom. Or her house. Or even Lawndale. And this skimpy white gown is not her cute pajama pants and yellow tank top!]

Is this a joke? It's not very funny. Where are my clothes?! And my makeup, and my hairbrush?

...wait. Are those...wings?! No, it can't be! They're like angel wings...

...oh no. Oh, no, is this...Heaven?! Did I die?! No no no no no, this can't be happening, I can't be dead, Sandi will never forgive me if I miss the Fashion Club's Lipsticks and Lip Balms discussion forum! Oh, everyone's going to be devastated...maybe even Daria will miss me. She'll be even more of a misery chick than before!

Ohhh, someone please tell me this isn't happening!
