[So Quinn's been actually doing some real thinking lately. What Daria said about magic, could it be true? Could she actually learn to cast pretty spells like the princesses and fairies in the movies?

Then again, magic would mean studying and hard work. And Quinn is still slightly at odds with that for...reasons. Yes. Reasons.

She did believe in angels, and still kind of does. But magic's a whole other story.

Shopping, on the other hand, is something she knows. So she's doing that right now.]

Hmm...I wonder how good this shade of purple would look on me. [she holds a pair of chic ankle socks in one hand. She's also considering buying a few things for Daria...just a few gifts to change her mind about a makeover. Hey, just because she understands Daria's resistance doesn't mean she won't stop trying.]

[Bilbo's been here awhile now. He knows where most things are, he has his daily routine, and he knows where to go when he needs some clothes for the changing warmer weather.

That is why one hobbit, with pointed ears and bare furry feet, is looking right at Quinn.]

[Rude. Bilbo visibly startles, and looks all around himself as if to find the source of the commotion.]

I didn't mean to. [He's not sure why he did. It's taken him all this time in Luceti so far to stop finding the nearest place to duck out of notice whenever the big folk go by, with so many of them. It's never occurred to him he'd make them nervous, too.]

That sounds like something... [actually, neither of her parents would say that, not with Dad being so neurotic and Mom pounding at the glass ceiling the way she does] Er, something my grandma might say.

I'm not near old enough to be a grandfather yet.

[He looks somewhat offended, which still isn't exactly what anyone short of a rabbit would call threatening.]

Er, sorry. It's just...well, you don't look that old, actually, probably even younger than my Dad!

I'm not old. [But excuse him if he seems just a bit testy.] I'll have you know I'm barely fifty.

I'm afraid I'm quite grown by now. I'll be middle-aged before I realize it.
