[Right now, if she were at home, Quinn would be planning out her Thanksgiving strategy: eating just enough to be polite, but not enough to make a pig of herself and gain weight like most people do. Or in Dad's case, end up with heartburn.

She'd also be awaiting a visit from her grandmothers and aunts, a novelty which would wear off once the fighting started. Rita and Mom screaming at each other until Mom was unbearable to be around, Grandma Ruth criticizing Mom at every turn, Dad ranting on and on about Grandpa, Daria and Amy sitting off to the side grinning and eating popcorn. And if Brian and Erin came, twice the tears and twice the screaming.

But they're her family, and she misses them. It's been two years since she's had a proper holiday with them, geeky and embarrassing as overbearing "family days" are. Plus, the weekend after Thanksgiving always has some of the best sales! (Then again, it's a little hard to get excited about fifteen percent off when everything here is free.)

Right now she's decorating her and Daria's place with cute little brass leaves and colorful candle holders, and she's made some potpourri with dried cranberries. Cranberries always smell so good, and they're such a fashionable shade of red, too!]

When I was-oh, ha ha, Daria, you're still trying to convince me he isn't real? [Okay, she's on the fence with this one. The Santas running around the malls definitely aren't, but...well, it's like guardian angels. She wants to believe in something!]

So? Look at how fat the guy is and how he dresses, what would he know about fashion? [Sorry, Santa, you may have given her a lot of nice childhood memories but it's true.]

So obviously he only exists for small children. He's got a reputation for knowing toys better than fashion.

It really makes me miss Ms. Li. How sad is that?

I don't miss Ms. Li, but in a theoretical, hypothetical universe, it might just be possible there's worse.

Probably. It's hard to believe cause Ms. Li is so oppressive and ugly besides, but at least she hasn't torched the school to collect the insurance money yet.

Among the many things Ms Li has done and is, 'ugly' is probably the least offense and it's definitely the least likely to land her in jail some day.

I wonder who would take over the school if she went to jail?

I don't know exactly how they decide, but I'm pretty sure they'd try to get someone hired from outside. Which might be difficult, given Lawndale isn't exactly a stunning career move.

Yeah, who'd wanna run Laaaawndaale Hiiiigh when they could be in charge of a prettier school? Or at least one without a million of those ugly security cameras and Ultra Cola machines.

Makes you wonder how Ms. Li ended up there in the first place. She's a bit too ambitious to want it.

Who knows? Maybe she wanted to take over the world but decided to try it out with a school first or something.
