[Right now, if she were at home, Quinn would be planning out her Thanksgiving strategy: eating just enough to be polite, but not enough to make a pig of herself and gain weight like most people do. Or in Dad's case, end up with heartburn.

She'd also be awaiting a visit from her grandmothers and aunts, a novelty which would wear off once the fighting started. Rita and Mom screaming at each other until Mom was unbearable to be around, Grandma Ruth criticizing Mom at every turn, Dad ranting on and on about Grandpa, Daria and Amy sitting off to the side grinning and eating popcorn. And if Brian and Erin came, twice the tears and twice the screaming.

But they're her family, and she misses them. It's been two years since she's had a proper holiday with them, geeky and embarrassing as overbearing "family days" are. Plus, the weekend after Thanksgiving always has some of the best sales! (Then again, it's a little hard to get excited about fifteen percent off when everything here is free.)

Right now she's decorating her and Daria's place with cute little brass leaves and colorful candle holders, and she's made some potpourri with dried cranberries. Cranberries always smell so good, and they're such a fashionable shade of red, too!]

Or one with better academic records, but that would just be crazy. [Quinn, meet priorities.]

Makes you wonder how Ms. Li ended up there in the first place. She's a bit too ambitious to want it.

More likely the other schools were scared off. [Wow, Daria. Disrespectful. Not that she's ever given much respect where it really, really isn't earned.]

If we were a bit luckier, I'd say she'll move on to bigger and better things.

I have a feeling she's one of those that won't retire until she's in a nursing home. And that would require someone committing her.

On the other hand, I'd pay twenty to see them take her away. [It's good drama.]

If you can get it for twenty, why pay the fifty? [Come on, Quinn. Be mercenary.]

Yes, but if you pay twenty, you'll have extra next time you want to update your wardrobe.

[She hates translating into Quinnese.]

Just think of what you'd do if you were trying to get more mone off mom and dad. Or me.

Then you should have plenty of time to come up with ways to justify why he should give it to you.

Yes, but the rate is higher than mom and dad usually pay for grades.
